3. Heat treatment of wood packaging
When transporting shipment abroad we must comply with international standard for wooden packaging. By heat treating all wooden packaging obtain the corresponding logo, certifying that wooden products meet the conditions and requirements.
4. Professional packaging
For packaging we invite specialists who work with musical instruments and have a musical education. The piano is packed in the apartment (if dimensions allow) or we pick-up the instrument and pack it in warehouse.
5. Obtaining permits
KIY AVIA CARGO team assists in obtaining permission to ship the instrument abroad from the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine on the subject of whether the musical instrument is of historical or cultural value.
6. Transportation of a piano
Usually musical instruments are transported by air oversees. If the destination is Europe we can use truck delivery. Sea transportation is possible but undesirable due to weather conditions, humidity, etc.

WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR SHIPPING A PIANO ABROAD?
- Client must confirm the ownership of the musical instrument (purchase document, invoice, inheritance document, etc.)
- If the piano is older than 50 years it is necessary to obtain permission from the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine that the instrument does not represent historical (cultural) value.
- In some cases, when shipping a piano to the USA, Canada or Australia, for antique instruments with ivory keys, owner must obtain a special certificate from the manufacturer confirming the legal origin of ivory.
